Property Description

This well-appointed holiday cottage (left in photo) is set in the Lakeland village of Blawith, with excellent views over the fields to the Coniston Fells. It is over 300 years old and has been carefully converted to retain its character, with a wealth of beams, Lakeland slate floors, welcoming open fires and a bottle of wine on arrival. To the north is Coniston Lake, 1 mile, whilst the market town of Ulverston is to the south. Well situated for walking, mountain biking and water sports. Horse riding and fishing available locally. Shop 3 miles pub, 1 mile.

Ground floor: Living room with slate floor. Dining room/kitchen with slate floor. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin, both with beams. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Open fire in living room (initial fuel included). NSH, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Cot. High chair. Video and small library. DVD. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Landscaped gardens and furniture. Barbecue. Parking. NB: Slate staircase unsuitable for children and the infirm.

  1. Just what you would expect of a 400 year old cottage. Not for the less nimble as the steps are steep and their is a lot of them.The cottage is very well equipped and very quiet, the double bed is extremely comfortable, just what was needed after a day walking the fells. June 2011.

  9. The accommodation was in a beautiful location and was really lovely. I also thought that you should mention that the cottage is very secluded. We loved this aspect but others might not. Jan 2009.
  10. The property’s situated in an excellent area for local walks & in easy distance for Coniston, Windermere & a sea resort. Loads to do at Grizedale forest which is a must. Friendly pubs close by with an excellent menu for dining. The log fire is great! Feb 2008.

  13. Very cosy cottage which met with all our needs. Helped to make the holiday as good as it was. We had an excellent time. We found the accommodation warm and welcoming - well presented. The owners were there if needed - otherwise we wouldn’t have known they were next door - we felt like this was ’our’ home for the week. It was great. Feb 2006.

  17. It was my first time to the Lakes and it was stunning. The cottage was well placed and fulfilled our needs perfectly. It was a really nice touch, that the owner had left some milk for us in the fridge for when we first arrived! Jan 2009.
