Property Description

In the absolute heart of the Lake District, this is a very comfortable holiday base. A modern, architect-designed house , it stands in the centre of Windermere. Within walking distance are some of the Lakeland’s finest shops and excellent restaurants. Only 1 mile away is Lake Windermere; there, at Bowness, visitors may enjoy a wide range of water sports (equipment hire readily available). Also available nearby are good walking, cycling and pony-trekking. Kendal
10 miles. Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter museums within 20 minutes’ drive. Shops 200 yards.

  4. The main feature of this property is the location. It is no more than 10 minutes walk from all amenities - bus and rail station, very large well stocked supermarket, a smaller but good Co-op supermarket and excellent smaller local shops. There are several good local cafe/restaurants nearby and a pub serving food just over the road. It is also less than 2 miles from the lake. The house itself is very comfortable and a nice touch was the tea/coffee tray to use on arrival. May 2011.

  6. Fantastic location for those who like walking and being "far from the madding crowd". Beautifully kept grounds and every home comfort provided, making it a welcome retreat to return to at the end of a day’s walking. May 2011.

  8. Great location near to Windermere high street and its shops etc but far enough away not to be aware it was there. We could walk in less then 5 minutes to the shops and restaurants. Cottage had all the facilities you could ask for and location was easy to find. Easy walk down the hill to Bowness and easy access to the main roads in and out of the village if you wanted to drive around the lakes. Cleanliness and decoration was great and will happily use this cottage again and recommend to family and friends. Feb 2011.
