Set in the beautiful, unspoilt valley of Seathwaite, in the heart of the English Lake District. Hall Dunnerdale comprises of 5 traditional holiday cottages which have been renovated retaining much of the original character and all enjoy beams and lovely views. Set in a cluster the properties are tucked away in a quiet Lakeland valley and offer a peaceful retreat for those looking to get away from it all. Surrounded by spectacular scenery this is an excellent central base for either walking or touring the rugged fells and beautiful lakes. The exciting drive over Hardknott Pass with its breathtaking views is just 10 minutes’ drive away and it leads to Eskdale village and the Cumbrian west coast. The picturesque little towns and villages of Langdales, Ambleside and Broughton in Furness are an easy and scenic drive with the interesting Lakeland towns of Kendal and Ulverston a little further afield. Shop and pub 1 mile.

Ground floor: Living/dining room. Kitchen with stone floor. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Woodburner in living room included. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Video. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. 24hr drying service. Dishwasher. Small garden and bench. Parking (2 cars). Natural water supply from spring.

  1. Comfortable cottage. Very good wood burning stove with bonus of plentiful supply of logs. Excellent location for fell walking or touring beautiful local area. Oct 2012.
  2. Bed was very creaky as was the stairs. Although dog friendly there was no door preventing dogs going upstairs as they were left in the kitchen at night and the door from kitchen to the lounge did not close shut so had to be tied shut to prevent the dogs going in the lounge unsupervised. Also garden was not fully enclosed, so dogs could escape. These things did not spoil the holiday as we found ways round them but other people might expect something different. June 2012.
  3. We have spent a number of weeks in cottages throughout the UK and Caw Fell View was, without a shadow of a doubt, the best yet. The most picturesque setting, deep in the Duddon Valley and very peaceful. The cottage is excellently equipped and we received a very warm welcome from the owners. Fantastic local walks, of which we highly recommend the one to Seathwaite Tarn. I’d recommend the cottage to family anf friends. Lovely memories of a lovely week. April 2012.
  4. Comfortable, cosy and very well heated cottage. Had everything we needed except a vacuum cleaner, which with 2 dogs was required. My son who lives nearby lent us one for our stay and to tidy up prior to our departure. Did mention this to owner. Feb 2012.

  8. Fantastic cottage in a beautiful setting, quiet and peaceful with great access to lots of walking. Friendly hosts - nothing was too much trouble. Kids really loved it too BUT perhaps teenagers would find the lack of mobile signal distressing - we loved it!!!! July 2011.
  9. Caw Fell provides very good quality spacious accommodation situated in a lovely valley with excellent options of walks and scenic beauty details of which are fully provided for at the cottage. It has near by at Seathwait a good pub which provides a reasonably varied menu of pub food. June 2011.
  10. An excellent cottage with amazing views of the Duddon Valley. Many good walks from the front door and great food from the Newfield Inn down the road. Owners couldn’t have been more helpful with local information and acted promptly when we had a problem. April 2011.

  20. Beautiful valley with good walks. No need for the car, pub 1 mile, food great. Post office/store 1.5 miles, not expensive. Best place to get away from it all, including the mobile. (They don’t work). Oct 2009.
