A good base to enjoy this lovely area

Only 200 yards from Gildredge Park bowling greens and tennis courts, 1/2 mile from the town centre and railway station, these spacious and elegant holiday apartments with period features in a fine Victorian house are ideal centres from which to enjoy all aspects of a really varied holiday. McSweeney (ref 3536) and Prideaux (ref 3537) have a feature marble fireplace. Eastbourne is a fine town with a Victorian pier and excellent theatres hosting national productions both musical and dramatic at the Devonshire Park and Congress Theatres. Easily reached by road via M25 and A22 and is 1½ hours by train from London. There is also an International Tennis Tournament at Devonshire Park and County Cricket at the Saffrons Sports ground, all of these venues are within walking distance of the property. The Bluebell Steam Railway and Filching Manor Motor Museum are a short drive and the South Downs are close by for walking enthusiasts.
Eastbourne now has a Marina and harbour village and there is also a fine swimming and leisure pool. Two excellent golf courses are within 1 mile, with horse riding 10 minutes drive. Sailing, windsurfing and fishing are available from the beach. Day trips to France operate from Newhaven 12 miles away. Shops and pub a short walk.

  1. The flat is spacious and comfortable, and the water always hot. It is situated about 15 minutes walk from the station and town centre. It is rather further from the sea front but is on a bus route, which links up with the bus to Beacchy Head Visitor Centre. The flat has good TV (Digital) and DVD Player, so that times of staying in are not a problem. June 2012.
  2. This is a lovely spacious flat, the photos do not do it justice! It is well situated for shops and about 20 min walk to beach. Would definitely come again. June 2012.

  11. Le Brun was an excellent place from which to explore Eastbourne & surrounds. It is within walking distance of the majority of Eastbourne’s locations & the bust stop at the front of the premises was an added bonus. The hosts were most friendly & accommodating. The facilities at the premises were excellent with a lot of room. We have utilised self catering accommodation a lot in Engalnd & Le Brun is among the best we have stayed at. We highly recommend Le Brun. Aug 2008.
  12. The property was outstanding. The rooms and layout were very large. A really lovely Victorian property, furnishings very clean and comfortable. The Lamb Inn was about 200 yards away, and offered excellent meals, reasonably priced. Morrisons supermarket was only a short walk away. Will certainly go there again. March 2006.
