Property Description

A splendid example of a late 19th-century Welsh cottage that has been renovated to a high standard. Retaining many original features, it offers very cosy holiday accommodation from which to explore the delights of the Cardigan Bay. Situated on the road leading into Llangranog, the holiday cottage is only a 5-minute walk to the beach. Activities in the area are plentiful with golf, fishing, horse riding, watersports and skiing all available. Boat trips can be taken on Cardigan Bay - where bottlenosed dolphins are sometimes seen - or relaxing walks can be enjoyed along the coastal path, whilst taking in some of the breathtaking scenery. Many pretty towns and villages are along the coastline including New Quay, Cardigan and the pretty Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron. Shop ¼ mile.

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Castle Rock Cottage was a short walk from the beach and proved to be a great find. The log burning stove kept us nice and warm and the whole decoration and feel within the cottage exceeded all our expectations. My wife has been coming to the area since she was a child and we will definitely be using Castle Rock for future visits. March 2012.
  2. The cottage was homely but there was plenty of room for a family of four. The girls loved the cottage. You do have to be careful of the road the cottage is on because it can be quite busy. Aug 2010.
  3. An absolutely lovely and very homely cottage. Aug 2010.
  4. The accommodation was traditional with excellent sized rooms. It had all the necessary fixtures and fittings needed (utensils, towels, logs for the fire) and more. The surrounding areas of the property were idyllic - country lanes and a waterfall opposite. The 5 minute walk to the beach was ideal. Feb 2010.
  5. Very well appointed character property conveniently situated close to a fine Welsh beach. Aug 2009.
  6. Ideally located for the beach, local pubs and local shop, plus plenty of local walks. The house had large, airy rooms, with just the right amount of furniture - not too much and not too little. July 2009.
  7. Accommodation very well equipped and maintained, parking was a bit of an issue due to a local festival and the size of my vehicle. June 2009.
  8. A lovely cottage with high quality fittings. Our stay was very enjoyable and close to all amenities in the village. Would recommend to all! March 2009.
  9. Castle Rock is an absolutely gorgeous and spacious cottage. The village itself is ideal as a base to explore the area and a perfect size. I intend to return to Llangrannog and Castle Rock in the future and have already recommended it to friends and family. March 2009.
  10. The cottage was lovely. March 2009.
  11. The accommodation was perfect and ideally situated for access to the beach, the local amenities had everything you need. It was easy to explore the beautiful coastline in the area. May 2009.
  12. Beautiful cottage which was incredibly well-equipped. Wonderful countryside and we had gorgeous weather - a really relaxing holiday. Feb 2008.
  13. Beautiful location for the sea and for walking. The furnishings were very tasteful but robust. May 2008.
