Property Description

Situated close to Loch Leven, Carness West was built to take full advantage of the breathtaking mountain views, with first floor panoramic windows and doors leading to two spacious balconies. Despite its seclusion, the house is ideally located for all outdoor activities including hill walking, climbing, golf, horse riding, mountain biking, skiing, fishing and kayaking. There is an abundance of wildlife to be seen in this stunning location. Locally there are craft shops, tea rooms and a visitor centre. Shop 3 miles, pub 1 mile.

Two double bedrooms, each with 5ft bed; one with en-suite shower room and toilet. Single bedroom. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. Laundry room. First floor: Large living/dining room with wood-burning stove and oak floor. TV snug with French doors to balcony. Spacious, well-equipped kitchen with cooking island and French doors to large balcony with table and benches.

  3. A great location and there are stunning views from the house. A wide variety of birds visit the feeder on the balcony and deer visit the garden. It is tastefully decorated and furnished. We certainly want to go back, hopefully to have better weather for walking. June 2012.

  5. Carness West is a beautiful accommodation, extremely comfortable with high quality finishes. We stayed early March, the weather was extremely changeable, we managed to get a couple of great days in the mountain, and enjoyed visiting Oban and surround area. It was great to relax in the evening with the log burning stove reflecting on the day. Wonderful property hope to be back soon. March 2012.
  6. This property is, without doubt, the best we have stayed in within the UK - which is one of the reasons we have returned time and again. Location is excellent - very quiet & peaceful with easy access to the shores of Loch Leven, and the property is well equipped and maintained to a very high standard. Excellent hillwalking & climbing in the area (Glencoe & Nevis range all within easy reach), plenty of historic castles and gardens to see, distilleries to visit, and boat trips to the multitude of islands which lie off Scotlands West coast. The rail trip from Fort William to Mallaig is also highly recommended. March 2012.
  7. The property is incredible! Beautiful scenary and a quiet secluded spot. A good walk to a pub on some slightly dodgy roads, but if you’re ok driving everywhere it is an excellent house. March 2012.
