This 17th-century Cotswold mill is delightfully situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty overlooking a picturesque trout stream in the beautiful grounds of the owner’s home. There is a large exclusive garden, streamside patio and fishing for guests. It rests in the peaceful valley below historic Painswick, within easy reach of Cheltenham, Bath and Stratford. Shops in village.

Cleverly converted with open stonework inner walls, elm beams and charming furnishings, making this an attractive and unusual holiday home. Spacious, bright, open-plan beamed room with dining area, pine furniture and dresser. Comfortable sitting area, with inglenook and wood-burning stove. Convenient U-shaped kitchenette. Two solid elm open-tread staircases lead (1) down to hall with original Cotswold flagstones on floor: Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. Double bedroom with 6ft bed, (can be divided to form twin beds), and (2) up to second floor: Spacious gallery (with extra divan for +1 or cot) leads to second twin bedroom – both with pitched, beamed ceilings.

  2. A lovely cottage set in peaceful surroundings with the benefit of being situated in the grounds of the owners home. Some lovely villages around eg. Lower & Upper Slaughter - both worth a visit. Local Rococo gardens at Paisnswick are excellent and a visit to Painswick Beacon a must on a nice day to enjoy the views of the Severn valley from the bridge in the South to Hereford in the North.   4. The property had a real "fiarytale" look, it was superb. The hospitality of the owners was excellent. A real relaxing holiday, a short walk along the stream took us to the Mill Pond where we enjoyed coarse fishing. Fishing is something I hadn’t done for 30 years, but really enjoyed. The children were made very welcome. March 2012.
  5. The owners John and Sue made us very welcome, and were on hand with advice and local knowledge. The cottage and its location were superb especially as we enjoy walking and the countryside. The Ricocco Gardens and their cream teas are a must try and the local post office has a good selection of maps and local walks. Sept 2011.

  8. Capp Mill is a beautiful period cottage in a picturesque location, on a very well maintained estate. Though it is a 400 yrs old property it has all modern amenities within. It is very safe at the same time gives you the privacy you want. Its location makes all other attractions in the Cotswold easily accessible. It offers the pleasure of lovely walks, nice pubs & restaurants in the village. Aug 2010.

  10. Capp Mill is situated in the most wonderful surroundings. We loved its atmosphere and sense of calm. The gurgling of the mill stream was delightful and we spent many tranquil hours on the terasse near the stream. July 2010.

  13. The mill house was wonderfully situated, very spacious and really nicely furnished; the owners were incredibly helpful and friendly. There are lots of walking paths nearby that are enjoyable regardless of weather, and the village of Painswick is within a few minutes walk and lovely. This place is magical and we hope to return and enjoy the garden and outdoor creekside patio. Feb 2010.

  15. Even with 2 little children and one jack russel, the access to the river was never experienced as dangerous because the landlord provided child safety measures of an adequate nature. It’s exactly what we expected after consulting the website. No false impressions, it is the real thing. Friendly advise, child friendly, no worries. Aug 2009.

  18. The property was lovely very peaceful and the garden with the small stream running through was very relaxing. Great for an away from it all holiday but with the village of Painswick only a couple of minutes by car it was easy for grocery shopping from the local Londis or if you wanted to eat at any of the restaurants or pub.   20. This is a beautiful property that has to be seen to appreciate how lovely it really is. The combination of Olde Worlde and modern, blends beautifully together and everything you could want is catered for. The location is amazing and the weather was especially good considering the time of year we went (early feb). We were made to feel very welcome by the owners of the cottage without feeling overwhelmed. This is an ideal cottage to stay in especially for a relaxing break, the perfect place to re-charge your batteries. I would class this holiday as 5 star break and will definitely be going back.
