Property Description

This period holiday apartment dates back to 1855 and has retained many of the original features, with high ceilings, original covings and skirting boards, which all add to the charm and character. Whitby is known for its connections with Captain James Cook and is also where Bram Stoker found his inspiration for Count Dracula. Just a 5-minute stroll brings you into the town centre, where the cobbled streets are lined with antique curio shops, inns and tea rooms, and the ginnels and alleyways are home to fishermen’s quaint cottages. Follow the colourful harbour to a 3 mile stretch of sandy beach, perfect for a family day at the seaside. The brave of heart can climb the 199 steps to St Mary’s church and the ancient abbey ruins, where breathtaking views can be enjoyed across the coast towards Sandsend and Staithes. Join the ghost walks around the town or board the steam train and enjoy a memorable journey through the glorious Esk Valley into the Heartbeat villages of Grosmont and Goathland. Whitby hosts many festivals throughout the year, with the 60s music festival folk week and goth weekends, when the town becomes alive with visitors from far and wide. Golfing enthusiasts will love the challenging 18-hole cliff-top golf course. Beach 0.5 miles. This apartment can be booked with W43349, W43350 and W43351 to sleep up to 16 guests. Shop and pub 100 yards, restaurant 0.5 miles.

Stairs to entrance. All on second floor: Living/dining room/kitchen. 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 bunk. Shower room with toilet.

Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot and high chair on request. Freeview TV. Electric cooker. Microwave. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi. Parking (1 car). Welcome pack. No smoking. Friday to Friday.
