Originally a granary built in 1750, now having been refurbished and furnished to a high standard, this detached holiday property offers a comfortable base, set on 12 acres offering direct access to the River Usk, where fishing permits are available subject to availability. Spectacular views of the Abergavenny and Brecon mountains form a beautiful backdrop to the Welsh countryside, including Sugar Loaf, Skirrid and Blorenge. The Monmouthshire Brecon Canal is within 5 minutes’ walk and a golf club is just on the adjacent land. Many castles on the Welsh Marches make for interesting historical visits. Abergavenny, 2 miles, has shops, cafés and restaurants. Shops 1 mile, pub 1½ miles.

  1. This cottage is in a lovely quiet location. It was great to be able to take the dog into the adjoining field. Great walking nearby. The tea and Welsh cakes left out for us was very welcome as we all live miles away. It was very clean and well appointed and the hosts most welcoming. We would love to come back again. May 2013.

  5. This cottage made the ideal location for our family holiday. We were able to access places of interest such as the Big Pit Museum at Bleanavon, beautiful countryside for walking and canoing, pretty small towns for exploring such as Crickhowell, and some superb pubs and restaurants. The cottage itself was very cosy comfortable and well equipped, it really was like home from home. Oct 2011.

  9. The cottage was very clean, very comfortable and with a good outside space. The rooms were good size and nicely furnished with fresh flowers. Our host was very friendly, gave us space but was available for any advice on local dog walks and places of interest. There was also the lovely touch of welsh cakes and fresh milk & tea bags to enable a cuppa on our arrival. June 2011.
