Property Description

These 3 beautiful and spacious barn conversions are set on a working sheep and beef farm. The farm itself has 140 acres, and the farmland links up to the Ystwyth Cycle Trail which is over 16 miles long. The interiors of the properties have vaulted ceilings, modern lighting, and furnished with leather sofas and log-burners, each with a hot tub available. All 3 properties (refs OA5, OA6 and OA7) can be booked together to form one large house sleeping 12, and they all have interconnecting doors which can be opened up. There is also the option of taking a horse on holiday, the farm has 6 loose boxes and a paddock which can be made available. Located near Tregaron, a small Welsh-speaking market town where guests can visit the famous Rhiannon Welsh Gold Centre that offers beautiful gifts and a fantastic art gallery. Tregaron is also famous for its trotting races, which are actually held here at Dolyrychain Farm on the Sunday following the May bank holiday and also over the August bank holiday weekend each year. The event is the largest of its kind and attracts over 10,000 visitors. This is a haven for walkers and cyclists with the Cambrian Mountains at the foot of the farm and the panoramic Pumlumon Mountains to the north. Visit the university town of Aberystwyth, home of the National Library of Wales, take a walk on the promenade or even catch the electric cliff railway on Construction Hill. For a magical day out take the narrow gauge railway from Aberystwyth to the heart of the Pumlumon Mountains where the destination will be the world famous Devils Bridge and Rheidol Falls. Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. A November visit with distinctly mixed weather but the cottage was extremely warm and comfortable and it was really relaxing to be away from mobile signal and internet access. On the fine days we enjoyed the very beautiful surrounding countryside. Nov 2012.
  2. The cottage was perfect for our requirements as it was easily accessible for my elderly parents and had a downstairs bedroom and bathroom for them. The owners were really helpful and friendly. If there had been shops and restaurants a little closer we might not have come home at all!! Tips for the area - a must-see is the red-kite feeding and avoid Powis castle if you have people with mobility problems with you !! Sept 2012.
  3. Property was definitely 5 star... excellent. Was off beaten track so need to drive to see anything or be heavily into walking... but scenery around was fab! We booked meal at local restaurant and struggled as no taxis to get back, so good idea to have designated driver. Food at local restaurant (Black Lion) was excellent. Although pub was a mile away not good idea to walk as w did not feel too safe doing so. Visited Aberaeron was lovely... All in all would go back. April 2012.
  4. Fantastic cottage! Will go back any time. Dec 2011.
  5. This was a beautiful property, well worth staying. Make sure you book if you want a meal in the pub on a Saturday evening as we went on the off chance and it was fully booked. Oct 2011.
  6. Beautiful cottage with very high standard of fixture and fittings, set in a lovely part of the welsh country side. Great for a pure relaxing holiday everything you needed was within the cottage including BBQ on the patio, Would highly recommend to couples and families (would be better if wifi was offered as you can not get a good phone signal). Oct 2011.
  7. This accommodation is fantastic, it is so nicely finished and the welcome was very warm. We regrettably had to cut our trip short due to an accident on the farm caused by a fall on wet sleepers (a hazard in Wales resulting in 3 weeks off work. Despite this - the property was fab. Sept 2011.
  8. The cottages and surroundings are fabulous. They are modern, well equipped and in a very quiet ideal location to relax and unwind. We were warmly welcomed by the owners as the cottages are located on their working farm. If travelling to the cottages, please don’t use your sat nav. It took us in circles for about an hour and my mobile phone could not get any signal to call the owners for directions. Please ensure you are fully aware of the directions before you leave as the cottages are not signposted from the main road! Sept 2011.
  9. Amazing property with everything you could ask for in it. Loved the fire and our hosts were most accommodating. Great area with plenty to see and do and will definitely return soon as we have not even scratched the surface yet. Aug 2011.
  10. Clean, modern, comfortable accomodation, very friendly owners who recommended some great pubs and beaches. April 2011.
  11. The cottages are beautiful and very spacious and included everything you could need with a young family. The owners on site were fantastic and so helpful and thoroughly recommend this as a base for mid to coastal Wales as its a great remote location but still only 20 mins or so to nearest harbour town Aberaeron and has many local points of interest such as Devil’s Bridge and the waterfalls. Feb 2011.
  12. Excellent modern property. Very clean and well kept, owners lovely, very friendly and accommodating. Feb 2011.
