Property Description

Beautifully converted from a Victorian barn, these two cottages are situated off a quiet lane close to the hamlet of Treggidden, which is centrally located on the famous Lizard Peninsula. Furnished and equipped to a high standard, they adjoin one another and nestle amidst 14 acres of grass and woodland (which the retired owners run as a hobby farm) with a small stream forming the southern boundary. Just 10 miles from Helston and 23 miles from Falmouth, this area of Cornwall is well known for its wealth of wildlife, many NT gardens, sheltered sandy beaches and romantic coves. The tranquil wooded coastline running up to the Helford Estuary offers some of the most spectacular walks in the south-west.

The owners live with their dogs on the farm, which is run as a retirement hobby. In addition to horses grazing the land there are chickens and ducks with an oguage garden railway in the orchard.

Beamed open-plan living room with electric woodburner, rugs on ceramic-tiled floor and well-equipped beamed modern kitchen/dining room with ceramic-tiled floor. Utility area with Belfast sink. Shower room with toilet. First floor: Hall with polished wooden floor. Double bedroom with 5ft bed and en-suite toilet and wash basin. Twin bedroom with exposed beams. Bathroom with toilet.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Nice people, nice location. June 2012.
  2. The website doesn’t do it justice. We said we could live there! Everything you need, clean comfortable, warm and peaceful yet close enough to all the fantastic places in Cornwall. Oct 2010.
  3. A fantastic holiday cottage, which was far better than the photos, and far exceeded our expectations. The cottage was very clean, modern, but still managed to keep its old characteristics. We will certainly visit the cottage again. Sept 2011.
  4. The seclusion of the property emphasized the meaning of our holiday because it was so different to the busy and noisy environment in which we spend the majority of the year. July 2010.
  5. Property was clean and well equipped with lovely surroundings and very friendly people. June 2010.
  6. A fantastic welcome. Buzzard barn is really well equipped, we have a 14 month old and it was great to have a proper cot, highchair and stair gate! The setting is beautiful, it’s very well placed for local sites anis wonderfully calm and quiet. May 2010.
  7. We took a huge risk in booking this because there were NO inside photos. I normally ensure that we know what the inside is like to avoid any appalling design ! It would be really helpful for future. The barn was absolutely superb though. April 2010.
  8. Perfect for parents of young kids. Sept 2009.
  9. Well equipped and comfortable. Sept 2009.
  10. Five star accommodation in every aspect. Sept 2009.
  11. A first class barn conversion that provides excellent accommodation. Well equipped and very comfortable. Aug 2009.
  12. My wife & I have had many self catering cottage holidays over the years and we can say this was the best accommodation we have ever had. May 2009.
  13. Buzzard Barn was an excellent cottage with a homely feel and excellent facilities. The owner was very friendly and helpful and I would definitely return! June 2007.
  14. A part of Cornwall we had not visited before and found delightful. The cottage was like a home from home and the owners were helpful and friendly without being at all intrusive. Aug 2007.
