Property Description

At the edge of a quiet hamlet in south Champagne, this property is comfortably furnished and adjoins the owner’s property although is completely independent. The large garden is ideal to relax in and there is a private sunny area in front of extensive fields. Within walking or cycling distance is the recreational lake in the natural Park of Forest d’Orient where sunbathing, sailing, windsurfing, fishing and swimming are enjoyable. The surrounding forests are a haven for walking, bird watching or biking. Not far away are the Champagne vineyards and the pretty town of Bar-sur-Aube with a large choice of restaurants and markets.

Location: Geraudot village (basic shop in summer, bar restaurant), 1.5km from Lac d’Orient (beaches, sailing), 8km from all facilities, 25km E of Troyes (old town, train to Paris).

  4. Very warm welcome from unobtrusive hosts. No English spoken but every effort made to communicate despite my pathetic French. Location ideal for good walkers, bird watchers and particularly cyclists. If you have bikes, take them, because the tracks are excellent. Troyes a wonderful historic city - access easy. May 2012.
  5. The owners are very welcoming and concerned that you are comfortable and have everything you need. The property is spacious, comfortable and well equipped, we took our bikes and were able to lock them away in the garage when we weren’t using them. The velovoie which borders the lakes is great for safe, easy, cycling and most of the local roads are very quiet. There are plenty of interesting places to visit within an hours’ drive, especially the medieval city of Troyes which has an excellent art and other museums. The local shops at Lusigny are fine for all everyday needs and there is a bread van that stops near the house every morning (except Monday) though you have to listen out for the horn. Many local shops are closed on Mondays and the big supermarkets aren’t open on Sundays. Sept 2011.

  7. Very welcoming and friendly hosts, property very comfortable (large rooms, big bed, huge garden) and definitely one of the best gites we have stayed in. Interesting area for exploring the southern champagne region, and woodland walks/lake activities close at hand. Troyes attractive city. Highly recommended! May 2011.
  8. The accommodation, attached as as an independent annexe to the owners property, is beautiful. The fixtures and fittings have been tastefully and thoroughly selected. There is evidence of a great deal of time having been taken in their selection. The garden area for guests is equipped with tables chairs and loungers. M. and Mdm Leblanc speak little English but their desire to help is clearly apparent. Their unexpected "welcome pack" of a bottle of wine and beer was a treat after a long journey. Guests will find a selection of novels and tourist information, board games and cards so if the range of channels on the TV or the DVD’s do not appeal there are alternatives already to hand. It is a pleasure to recommend the property and the owners to other guests. May 2011.

  17. Very French, welcoming hosts, relaxing garden, convenient for lakes. On the downside (for us), a little too remote, not much in the village, no restaurant within walking distance. Overall would certainly recommend it though for a quiet break. June 2009.
