Property Description

A beautiful pair of Welsh stone cottages dating back to the 18th century retaining charm and character with exposed stone walls, beams and wood-burning stoves. They stand proud in the village of Llanfor, just outside the popular tourist area of Bala with a lake ideal for watersports, the white water rafting centre and steam railway. This excellent base is very central for enjoying north Wales, mid Wales and the Cheshire/Shropshire borderlands. To the west of the town, head towards Dolgellau, a small market town, home to the famous Cader Idris, Cymer Abbey, Coed Y Brenin Mountain Bike Centre and Mawddach Trail, the Cambrian Coast and Portmeirion. Head north to the majestic Mount Snowdon, passing Blaenau Ffestiniog, the slate caverns and Ffestiniog Railway, Betws Y Coed and Swallow Falls then on beyond to Conwy and Caernarfon, both famed for their castles. Heading east takes you towards Llangollen with its horse-drawn barges, canal boat trips, the motor museum, River Dee, abbey and steam railway along to either Chester or Chirk Castle and Erddig (both NT). Journeying south takes you on a scenic trip through the Berwyn Mountain range towards Lake Vyrnwy, Pistyll Rhaeadr, Wales’ largest waterfall and Powys Castle (NT). Shops and pubs 1 mile.

Ground floor: Living/dining room. Kitchen. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Shower room with toilet.

Woodburner in living room included. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Cot. Freesat TV. DVD. Microwave. Use of washing machine. Wi-fi. Patio and furniture. Shared grassed area. Parking (1 car). No smoking.
