Property Description

Bryn Berwyn country house is a family holiday home set in a small cluster of residential houses, on a very quiet road that connects the minor coastal roads with the main A487 coast road. The minor coastal road provides a spur road right down to the beach of Tresaith. This is a sandy family beach that has been awarded the Blue Flag and has easy access for launching all manner of light craft, a hidden 50-foot waterfall, fabulous rock pools and dogs are allowed on one half of the beach (1st May - 30th September). The beach front has been quietly developed with one gastro pub, shop and public WC (including shower) - in keeping with the hamlet of Tresaith. Bryn Berwyn is set ½ mile behind and above the beach (10-minute walk). This grand Edwardian house that has commanding views across Cardigan Bay was originally built for a sea captain in 1909. It has changed hands and use a few times over nearly 100 years but is now a well established large family holiday home, very spacious with excellent facilities. The whole of the local area is rich and diverse - lovely walks, beautiful beaches and well stocked rivers allowing great opportunities to see dolphins, seals and otters. Not to mention fantastic bird life including rare birds such as the Red Kite and the Peregrine falcon! There are rare farm breeds in the area and regular country shows and markets. Alternatively there are plenty of modern day attractions a short drive away such as water parks, adventure parks, farm parks, paintball, quad biking, go-karting, surfing, sailing, adrenalin boat trips and even a ski slope!
Whether visitors need a quiet relaxing holiday - walking, taking in the sea air and eating locally produced nutritious food (there is a great farm shop 2 miles away) - or a good base from which to explore West Wales, Bryn Berwyn offers excellent comfort and value all year round. The garage behind the house also serves as an office for the owner who is always available should any help or advice be required. Shops 1 mile.

  3. This lovely spacious house was warm and welcoming. Three living rooms meant the 18 of us weren’t crowded at all. The dining room was a fantastic place for us to eat in comfort and to have our party! Two dishwashers amply supplied with detergent were well used and saved much time. This is probably the best house we’ve stayed as extended family over the last 10+ years. Hoping to come back very soon. Kids loved being able to walk to sandy beach for football and adults for the chance to get them to use up their energy. Surprise plus was free internet access too. Feb 2012.
  4. This house has everything you could reasonably wish for; especially to be commented on are the en suite facilities, which were second to none - much appreciated by us eight pensioners! Kitchen brilliant,decking area wonderful, spoiled only by too many wasps, unfortunately; area perfect for walkers, Ship Inn highly recommended. All in all,a great success.   7. Bryn Berwyn is an amazing house with 8 bedrooms, all en-suite. The rooms are all nicely decorated & the cupboards well stocked for 18 people. So many extras are provided too - dressing-up clothes for the children, wind break, bucket & spades, games for indoor & outdoor, plenty of pegs for the washing line & loads of outdoor seating & sun shade umbrellas. Bed linen & lovely big towels provided too. Excellent, especially as the sun shone every day!! May 2011.

  9. It was of a fantastic standard, clean and tastefully decorated and furnished. Also all bedrooms had en suite facilities. We were a party of 20 adults and all could sit together for breakfast/dinner etc. However, the house was also spacious enough that we weren’t on top of each other either. Not a bad work to say.   10. The property was light and spacious. The dining area and the decking especially lovely in the sunshine.Plenty of room for people to be together or separate as they wished. Kitchen was well equipped and it was a particularly nice touch that condiments and sauces etc were available. Lovely light and airy en suite bedrooms. The location was good - a nice walk to a lovely beach and the local pub served excellent food. Oct 2010.

  12. The quality of the decor was excellent, the furniture and soft furnishings were beautiful and not ’token gestures’. Everything about the property reflected the owners own tastes in some way, and this was carried throughout the property.   14. The property is extremely spacious, and well equipped. It is brilliant that seven of the bedrooms have en-suite facilities, whilst the third is just across the corridor. Bedrooms are all of a good size, especially the two family rooms which are huge! Nice bed linens and towels. The dining room (conservatory) easily seats 20 people. Three lounges so plenty of space for everyone, and room to escape for a few quiet moments! May 2010.

  18. Excellent property for a large group/family. Superb views and short distance to the beach makes it an ideal seaside holiday. The owner is still in the process of making the outside area safer for children but overall a great place. The grandparents found the ground floor bedroom with bathroom very useful so they didn’t have to use the stairs. Could benefit from more literature on places of interest and things to do nearby.   19. The accommodation is excellent. All 8 bedrooms have bathrooms (all ensuite except one), and all are spacious, particularly the one downstairs, and the two 1st floor family rooms. A vast decking area and bbq have just been completed which, together with the huge lawned garden, give a wonderful safe outside space for everyone, including two dogs and a three-year old. May 2008.
  20. I would say that the description of the property on the website does not do it justice. It is out of date - e.g. there is now a huge deck which is not mentioned. It far outstripped our expectations in every respect. We were thrilled. Aug 2008.
