Property Description

Near to many good beaches

A large stone built, detached farmhouse is set in a prominent position on the Lleyn Peninsula with its own large garden. The property has been refurbished to provide a very good standard of holiday accommodation, ideal for families or groups wishing to holiday together. The Lleyn and surrounding areas offer some of Wales’ most dramatic coastal scenery – much of which is National Trust maintained. The rugged cliffs offer superb birdwatching and rare chough, peregrine and colonies of auks can be seen. Sandy beaches are plentiful including Criccieth, Pwllhelli, Porth Neigwl and probably the most talked about in the vicinity - Whistling Sands near the foot of the peninsula. Criccieth Castle, perched on a rocky peninsula above the town, is one of Wales’ most photographed castles. Bardsey Island is a former site of religious pilgrimage, and plays host to some great watersports (mainly surfing or sailing). Also popular for watersports is Abersoch. Popular excursions include day trips to Portmeirion, and a steam train ride through the valley from Porthmadog. Glaslyn for go-karting and outdoor pursuits, and horse riding on the beach at Criccieth. Shops and pub 11/2 miles.

Ground floor: Living room. Dining room/kitchen. 1 double bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet. Steep stairs to first floor: 4 bedrooms: 1 double with en-suite shower room and toilet, 2 twin, 1 single. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Tumble dryer. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Large garden. Ample parking. No smoking.

  1. Warm, comfortable accommodation, excellent welcome from owner, helpful when we queried about a place to visit. Bedding, tea-towels, towels all immaculate, lovely Portmerion crockery. Well fitted out kitchen. Peaceful location. Will re-book. June 2012.
  2. We could not have asked for more. Great house with lots of character but all mod cons. Extremely friendly owners. Large garden safe for the grandchildren. All this and the local attractions too! Aug 2011.
  3. Perfect family holiday especially for the children with the farmyard animals and a large safe garden. Aug 2011.
  4. The farm was a lovely place for my grandchildren to explore, they experienced feeding the miniature horse’s and playing in the large garden, the adults found it relaxing and the couple who own the farm were very welcoming and friendly a really great holiday, one of the best accommodation’s we have stayed in thank you. May 2011.
  5. A beautiful farmhouse with scenic view across the Llyn peninsula. The owners were very friendly and approachable. The accommodation was spacious and very well-equipped. We had a great time exploring North Wales. April 2011.
  6. Immaculate! We were so impressed with the standard of the furnishings/ fittings/ appliances...the best cottage we’ve ever been to. The owner left us coffee, tea, sugar and milk, as well as dishwasher tablets, washing tablets, washing up liquid and toiletries. Later in the week she brought us a home-baked cake. We were invited to look at and chat about the new-born lambs and other wildlife near the farm. We would love to return in another season. Feb 2011.
  7. The highest possible standard all round. Couldn’t be bettered. Oct 2010.
  8. Amazing property - from the beautiful farmhouse kitchen, the spotless bedrooms and bathrooms and the huge garden - completely faultless!! Everything we dreamed of. Fantastic!! July 2010.
  9. Great sized place, very homely, with a wonderful family kitchen. The farm provided the children with a lot of interest. Oct 2009.
  10. The Cottage is beautifully presented with all mod cons, with views towards the sea from many of the windows. A large enclosed garden to enjoy, and a very peaceful location. Sept 2009.
  11. Excellent accommodation, it was like staying in a 5 star hotel, even down to tea and cake on arrival, and the little soaps and shampoos in the bathrooms, everything you could want to use in the kitchen was in the kitchen it was fantastic. The garden was great for children and very safe, they especially loved the Shetland pony (Prince) and Madoc the horse at the bottom of the garden and also the ostrich’s. Beautiful 180 degree views of the sea and mountains which can also be seen from every window in the farmhouse apart from the kitchen one. Very, very tranquil we didnt want to come home, we could have lived there, plenty of space for 4 adults and 5 children. Sept 2009.
  12. It was a good location for exploring the area. The children in our party particularly enjoyed feeding the horses and seeing the ostriches and with a good size garden for running around. Aug 2009.

  16. Excellent hosts, excellent location and accommodation felt very homely. Jan 2009.
  17. Great location on the edge of Snowdonia, not to far away from two great beaches for the children, lovely accommodation with great hosts, the house has a large garden far enough from the road, to allow the children to play without full time supervision. Working farm with sheep, horses and ostriches. Aug 2009.
  18. Excellent property; very well appointed. Very helpful owner. Lovely part of Britain. Oct 2008.
  19. This farm house was absolutely beautiful. We visited in the midst of winter and the owner had even put the heating on for our arrival. It was nicely furnished and all the bed linen and towels were clean and comfortable. Feb 2008.
  20. The Cottage was fabulous, we could not have wished for more. We were celebrating a ruby wedding anniversary and for 9 adults it was the perfect property. The owners were extremely helpful and even allowed access to the animals, including watching the Ostriches being fed. I would strongly recommend this cottage and will hopefully be back in the near future. March 2008.
