  1. This is the best cottage we have ever stayed in - it was beautiful, full of character, with a lovely conservatory all set in stunning grounds. The cottage was spotless and very well equipped with everything that you could possibly need. We will be returning! June 2012.
  2. A really fantastic cottage with everything you could need, ideal for families. Large garden, wi-fi and good local amenities. Caretaker really attentive. The only cottage we have returned to for another visit - with more being planned for the future! June 2012.
  3. Although we holiday in this area frequently, this was our first visit to Brown’s Cottage. We loved the location with stunning views from the conservatory and in spite of the dreadful wet weather we were warm and cosy indoors. In between showers we found plenty to do in the Wye Valley; from cycling on trails in the Forest of Dean to walking tours of towns, visiting viewpoints to view the dramatic scenery and eating out in good quality pubs and restaurants. We will certainly be returning to Brown’s Cottage at some point! April 2012.
  4. This is a lovely cottage in a great location. It was very clean on arrival. It is surrounded by a large garden so would be great for young children to play in. Easy access to Ross on Wye and Monmouth for food etc and places to visit (Symonds Yat etc) are close by. Would happily return here. April 2012.
  5. This is a perfect cottage if you have young children. The garden is large and enclosed so they can run free safely and the closest neighbours are sheep and rabbits. There are so many lovely castles to visit in the region and Tintern Abbey is beautiful. If you are English heritage members these are all free - this made it a very economical holiday for us. Nearby Hereford is great for shopping and the Catherdral is impressive. We have stayed in the cottage twice and it is a fabulous place. March 2012.
  6. The cottage was superbly supplied with all you could need for your comfort and enjoyment... kitchen equipment, garden table and chairs etc etc. Lovely setting and garden with sheep and rabbits viewable from the bedroom and conservatory. A real treat... would definitely go again. March 2012.
  7. Fantastic cottage and in good position to explore beautiful area. Plenty of castles to explore and good walking countryside. Oct 2011.
  8. Our tenth holiday here and that says it all. We love the cottage and the surrounding area, particularly the Forest of Dean and the Brecon Beacons. We will be back again. Sept 2011.
  9. A lovely spacious cottage that is nicely but simply furnished. The highlights are the large garden, with plum and apple trees laden with fruit, and the conservatory where we read and played chess, while the others could watch TV in the sitting room. Aug 2011.
  10. This is a well maintained, beautifully presented property. The cleanliness could not be faulted and added greatly to our appreciation of the cottage. The garden with the apple and plum trees and resident rabbits was great fun for all the family. We loved it! July 2011.
  11. Great location for Forest of Dean. Fantastic garden for the kids and lovely accommodation. Brilliant holiday. April 2011.
  12. The property felt very comfortable and homely. You had the feeling of isolation and peacefulness and yet were still close to major towns and facilities. Nov 2010.

  15. Lots of space and well equipped. July 2010.
  16. Lovely cottage, very well maintained with a fantastic garden. The extra toilet was an added bonus! The caretaker was very helpful. July 2010.

  18. The cottages was realy great, good facilities en very clean. April 2010.
  19. Clean, comfortable, and many extras provided; such as cleaning products, cooking extras, candles, bird guide and so many more. Caretaker really helpful and friendly. Such a fantastic holiday home and lovely conservatory, even a garage. Definitely one of the best. Feb 2010.
