This renovated, semi-detached property is part of a 17th century farmhouse on the edge of Brillac and close to Confolens on the Vienne River.

There is a private swimming pool (15ft diameter, 3ft deep) and a climbing frame with swing and slide.

French doors lead from the first floor lounge onto a balcony with steps to the garden and pool. Nearby are lakes ideal for fishing, golf courses and attractions such as Vallee des Singes, Futuroscope and Oradour-sur-Glane.

Shop, café/bar and restaurant 7km.

Ground floor: Kitchen/diner, separate toilet with basin. First floor: Lounge. Second floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 kingsize with en-suite bathroom with separate shower, toilet and basin, 1 twin with en-suite shower, toilet and basin. Double sofa bed in lounge.

Full central heating, woodburner in lounge (fuel included), all other fuel and power included in rent May-Sep, €50 supplement Oct-Apr, bed linen and towels included in rent, cot, highchair, colour satellite TV, DVD player, cassette/CD player, internet connection, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, freezer, microwave, lawned garden, patio, garden furniture, barbecue, off road parking for 2 cars. Sorry, no pets. No smoking please.

  1. Carole, Peter and family were really nice and helpful too. If you like fishing, the lake at Brillac, behind the cemetry is great (run by Steven an English guy). French people were great in this area. Weather was not so good but is normally nice in this region. Enjoyed the food, both eating out and produce when eating in. June 2012.

  8. Lovely newly refurbished property with loads of space and excellent and friendly hosts. Would suggest that the only thing that could add to it’s enjoyment would be a few more home furnishings as its a bit sparse in the lounge area....possibly some reading and viewing material too. Aug 2010.
  9. Outstandingly spacious, beautifully designed, perfectly clean, excellently equipped, friendly and welcoming hosts/neighbours. The surrounding area is of only moderate interest (by high French standards) but there are lovely walks, landscapes and villages to explore (we did not have time to check out the lakes). May be worthwhile finding out a little more about the potential sites of interest nearby to suit different needs. For us, the quiet country setting was fine. July 2010.
  10. A beautiful annexed cottage that is both private and spacious with full modern facilities that make this cottage a home from home. Little details like a torch in every room etc, helped to make this an astounding stay for us. You couldn’t ask for a nicer family who were helpful in every way but also didn’t intrude. I cannot praise this accommodation enough. 5 star. July 2010.
