Enjoy theatres, clubs, restaurants, art galleries and shops. Fishing and hill walking locally, with golf at Torwoodlee, 14 miles, and mountain bike trails for every level in Glentress Forest, 20 miles. Good access to the Border towns of Melrose and Kelso with their ancient abbeys, historic houses and gardens. Local shopping in Stow, 7 miles, with main shopping in Galashiels, 15 miles. Braehill House (26348) has a timber deck running along the front which can be accessed from each of the main living areas opening with a sliding wall from the dining area, and a sheltered, private, enclosed courtyard garden as well as a swimming pool and games room give endless entertainment, and the very spacious living areas provide both quiet and social spaces. Braehill Cottage (29434) is close to, but private from Braehill House and has a wonderful barbecue hut with comfortable sofas, large screen TV and of course, a barbecue. Fully sheltered from any breezes and giving full benefit of the view, this is a perfect sun downing spot. Spacious and sociable open plan living area with cosy woodburning stove. Sharing only the extensive landscaped garden and children’s play area, 26348 and 29434 may be booked separately, or together provide accommodation for 18 guests. Shop, pub and restaurant 7 miles.

  3. Wow factor as soon as you enter! Can easily have 12 staying with out been on top of one another. Instruction manuals for everything left out for you. All the beds are sooo comfortable. Pool and games room a added bonus and great to use. Plenty of tv’s so no arguing. Have booked again for a week, all the family going. Tesco store 10 minutes away, so easy enough to drive to or get it delivered. Can’t praise it enough. Jan 2012.
  4. A lovely house, perfect for a large group of family and friends, beautiful views and walks. The only problem which we came across was the smell from the heating in the bathroom beside games room was very strong. It was quiet strong in two bedrooms above. My friends didn’t like to say or I would have said to owner who were more than helpful would go back again. Jan 2012.

  6. Beautiful property much bigger than looks in pictures. Games room and indoor swimming pool were added extra that were used constantly over the weekend we stayed here. Overall would definitely recommend. Dec 2011.
  7. The house was even better than expected it was absolutely fabulous. If you take enough food with you there is no need to leave the property at all, as all your entertainment needs are catered for from the swimming pool to the games room as well as televisions everywhere! The photos do not do it justice. Excellent accommodation. Oct 2011.
