Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. A nice cottage with good sleeping arrangements for a larger group. It would have been useful to know before booking that the dog had to stay on the lead in the garden. April 2012.
  2. Excellent lodge - fantastic place to stay. April 2012.
  3. Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, unfortunately the weather was wet but the location of the cottage was spot on, we had plenty of room for seven adults and 2 dogs, the surrounding scenery was beautiful we could walk for miles and only see sheep. Sept 2011.
  4. Used as a base for a short break touring the lake district and Carlisle to Settle railway journey. The property offered our (three) families plenty of space, and there was adequate parking for our 4 cars. Just 5 minutes drive into Appleby for an evening drink at The Royal Oak, staff were very welcoming/accommodating for the 2 younger children later in the evening, after busy days out. Small BBQ available on the terrace, although the owner did offer us use of their own BBQ as we were a larger group. Lovely rural view from rear of the property and the stars on each of the clear nights were superb to see. Sociable living room with plenty of seating. Very pleasant owner who also offered info on the local wildlife. Take into account additional costs of gas and electric, although for 9 of us, £16 for the weekend wasn’t too bad. April 2011.
  5. Great place for a quiet relaxing break, more than adequate for our needs. clean and comfortable, but a little way out and a long drive to the nearest big town. March 2011.
  6. Spacious bedrooms, living and kitchen area. Our 2 year old really loved looking out from breakfast to the chickens and horses a few metres away! Aug 2010.
  7. Very quite and and good location. Apr 2010.
  8. In particular we enjoyed the spacious lounge/dining room area. Nov 2009.
  9. It provided us with what was needed, good sized rooms, beautiful area. Aug 2009.
  10. Property was situated in a quiet area and was in a good location for walking and cycling and also for visits to areas of the Lake District. The owner was very helpful and the property had all the required facilities. July 2009.
  11. It was very peaceful and a beautiful location. July 2009.
  12. Beautiful location and beautiful property, ideal for those who want a quiet break but equally ideal for those who would like a quiet base from which they can explore virtually the whole of the north west of Yorkshire and Cumbria (and Beyond). June 2008.
  13. Accommodation fantastic, would highly recommend. Hope to return sometime. Lovely setting with pond and widlife. very well equipped, comfortable cottage-Excellent. June 2008.
  14. Terrific accommodation, set in lovely rural setting. May 2007.
  15. Very pleased with the size of the property, a bit like a tardis looks small on the outside but big on the inside, if that makes sense. April 2006.
