The popular market town of South Molton has a weekly farmers’ market and a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well. Barnstaple, 12 miles, has a theatre, cinema, leisure activities, places of interest including the Museum of North Devon, Pannier Market, 14th-century St Anne’s Chapel and 18th-century Queen Anne’s Walk. Other family attractions in the area include RHS gardens at Rosemoor, The Big Sheep, The Milky Way, Exmoor Zoo and Dinosaur Park. Spectacular beaches at Saunton, Croyde, Putsborough, Woolacombe and Westward Ho! are all within easy driving distance. Sailing, windsurfing and fishing at Tamar Lakes and Wimbleball Lake, Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks. Excellent golf courses within 5 miles. There is some very good game fishing available locally in Eggesford. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
