This cottage in the picturesque hilltop village of Bonnieux, set on one of the most beautiful streets and built in stone dating back to the 12th century over looking the Luberon valley, provides an ideal base for visiting various local attractions. The regional park of Luberon represents a paradise for ramblers and offers plenty of paths for walking and hiking.

In nearby Apt there is a large Saturday market to explore. Quaint little alleys, with vaulted passage ways, arcades of houses and lined with shops, restaurants and cafes give one a real feeling of Provence. After a short drive there is the historical Papal city of Avignon with its famous bridge, Le Pont d’Avignon. One can appreciate its theatre festival in July.

The Colorado Provençal at Roussillon attracts many visitors to see ochre coloured rocks as well as the Fontaine du Vaucluse which is a sight to behold also having its own intriguing legend regarding its source. There are also local farmers’ markets throughout the year including the one in the evening in Velleron. After an interesting day out, your cottage will be a cosy place to come back and reflect on your days adventures.

Electric heating, €30 supplement for all fuel and power, bed linen and towels included in rent, cot, highchair, colour TV, washing machine, dishwasher, terrace, barbecue. One pet welcome. NB: External stairs to entrance have no handrail.

  1. Very warm welcome from Laurence on arrival when she dropped off the keys - with a bottle of local rose for us to enjoy! The property was very clean and centrally located - on a quiet street 5 minutes walk from local shops & restaurants/bars. Small but well equipped kitchen and idyllic terrace just outside the front door with table & chairs. We had a fabulous holiday and will definitely return! June 2012.
  2. I would have appreciated a map of Bonnieux in the folder. Even though it is a small city, being perched on the hill as it is makes it difficult to figure where things are. April 2012.
  3. Well located in a quaint, historic village with good amenities. Restaurants and cafes easily accessed. The property, situated in one of the oldest and prettiest streets, dates back to the 15th century, and is appropriately furnished with stunning views. Lots of local cats who respond very kindly to the occasional feed from a visitor. The keyholder was very helpful and friendly. The streets are little steep for the very elderly or infirm and care needs to be taken if accessing the village by car as the roads are narrow and there are some steep turns. July 2011.

  5. We loved this charming place with its really comfy bed. We actually liked the bathroom setup (toilet is with washing machine) and the shower was particularly good. Hot water good - water pressure good - kitchen good - linens - good - toilet - good! Evenings we ate olives and drank wine overlooking the valley - watching local cats linger in the sun, watching the sun set. Everything you need is close by. But the stone streets are hard - wear good shoes. Parking is about a ’block’ from the cottage. April 2011.

  9. Absolutely LOVED the property- wonderful location and steeped in character. It was very homely, cosy and comfortable. In the winter it was perfect for 2 adults and one child and in the summer I can imagine the twin conservatory bedroom being perfect for older children. The kitchen was very well equipped too. The only negative would be the bathroom. We do however realise it is a very old property so it wasn’t a big issue. It was perfectly fine for a few nights. Oct 2009.
  10. The lady who met us was very pleasant and helpful. The house was superb in a beautiful area. Really easy access by hired car (essential) and Edinburgh - Avignon flights with jet2.com are brilliant for Scots. The setting was ideal; the street was very quiet. July 2009.
