Property Description

Shared tennis court and games room

These four adjoining properties offer sumptuous accommodation within extensive grounds situated in The Carse of Gowrie which runs from the north Bank of the River Tay up to the northern slopes of the Braes of the Carse, between Perth and Dundee, noted for its fruit growing, especially raspberries and strawberries. The houses are furnished and equipped and make excellent holiday accommodation for groups and families of all ages. Guests have use of tennis court and play area within the spacious gardens, as well as a large external games room with children’s bikes, small pool table, table football and ample room for badminton or tennis. Perth and Dundee are both easily reached as are St Andrews, Carnoustie and Glasgow. Dundee has plenty of shopping and other excellent leisure facilities including Discovery Point, a five star visitor attraction chronicling Captain Scott’s journey to the Antarctic on the research ship ’Discovery’. Other interesting days out could include hill walking in one of the five Angus Glens with their stunning hill and loch scenery, approx 1 hour’s drive from the house, golfing at one of the many superb courses in the area, horse riding, fishing and sailing. Shops and pubs 4 miles.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. The house was perfect for the occasion. It was a family get together for my husband’s 40th. We were lucky with the weather however there was plenty to do if the weather was not great. The house was spacious and location was brilliant. Already recommended it to someone else. March 2012.
  2. Fantastic. March 2012.
  3. Beautiful old house, great for a weekend away with family or friends. Jan 2012.
  4. There was plenty to entertain two children aged 4 and 6 on site both indoors and out. This meant the adults were happy too. The open plan set-up of kitchen, eating area and sitting room was conducive to easy interaction. There was, however, a breakaway Monopoly game in the dining room! Jan 2012.
  5. The property was way above our expectations for the money we paid, we all enjoyed ourself and have tried to book again since our return but its not available. Would recommend as a great holiday place for relaxation and for the children, there is lots to do and lots of space for them to run around. Dec 2011.
  6. There were 9 of us that went on this holiday, 5 adults and 4 children. We all had a wonderful time and as the other reviews have said, the house is wonderful. Could not ask for any more, there was so much to do. Loads of bikes to use too, adults and children’s and there were helmets too. The description and photos do not do the house justice, it is much better. Cant praise this holiday enough. Oct 2011.
  7. Our stay at Benvie was great we had nine people including two very young children and a 92 year old lady with mobility difficulties. We met the owner who allowed us to use all of the games room facilities for a family BBQ (local family members came to visit. There was so much activity equipment available both inside and outside the house that no one found themselves with nothing to do. The location is ideal, as we found out for exploring Edinburgh, Fife, Dundee, Perth and the Highlands (a day trip out). All in all a great place to stay at, and we are already canvassing friends for a return next year. May 2011.
  8. Great place, will look to book again (piano needs tuning but everything else superb). May 2011.
  9. Brilliant accommodation, we all had the best time, the children’s facilities are excellent. April 2011.
  10. We had the best time ever! Our whole family was there. All ages. The children had a ball So many activities on site that they were never bored. We only left the house once to go for a walk through the local forest. A beautiful walk suitable for all ages. It was my husband and my 60th birthday celebration with our children and grandchildren. The dining-room was perfect for our Murder Mystery game on the Saturday night. Great fun! An excellent house. Well-equipped, and very comfortable and cosy (loved the coal fire). March 2011.
  11. Amazing property which far exceeded our expectations, comfortable and spacious with loads of extras... music/dvds/games etc. The games hall is fabulous and kept 12 of us occupied all weekend. Probably the best rental property we have stayed in. Jan 2011.
  12. The amount of space, the facilities and decor were all excellent. It was very well equipped with games etc. Brilliant for family accommodation as well as an adult group. Nov 2010.
  13. Brilliant place to stay for adults and kids alike. Games barn is a fantastic idea and kept everyone bust. Coal fire great and living space and room size excellent. Nov 2010.
  14. The owner and his team were very helpful and all our request and questions were answered immediately. We would highly recommend the complex and all the facilities added to our great family holiday. July 2010.
  15. There were 17 (children 15 months to 21 years) in our family and every one of us enjoyed our stay. We were delighted with all the games, tennis court, basketball hoops, etc. and especially the fact that we could buy fresh rasberies and strawberries every morning because we were in the middle of a farm. The kitchen was just fabulous and was furnished well. Truthfully the home was definately a pleasant surprise and we would book it again...and tell our friends about it. July 2010.
  16. The farmhouse provides wonderfully comfortable and welcoming accommodation for the whole family. We felt like guests in a friends house and really appreciated the home from home atmosphere. All the ingredients for a memorable family holiday. Would love to visit again! April 2010.
