Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. This is a detached cottage (half of a former byre - the other half remains unconverted but there are no cows in it!). It is opposite the owners house but with no other properties nearby. Access is up a track from the road but the track was in good condition and would have been fine in a car (we have a 4x4). The owner Robert is lovely and very helpful and welcoming while also giving you your space and freedom to enjoy your holiday. The cottage was very warm and comfortable even in December and dogs are welcome. The owner also has dogs just outside in kennels. The cottage is very practical for dogs being upside down living and tiled in the access hall and downstairs bathroom area. The open plan living area upstairs has hard flooring also (wooden/laminate). It is well equipped and comfortable. There is plenty to do in the area. This property is ideally suited to those who like the idea of a rural retreat. There is no TV signal or internet access. Dec 2012.
  2. Lovely lodge, expected more facilities than just a golf course and fishing lake (description was Hartland Forest Leisure Complex) needed to go out in the car as not much walking from the doorstep but lovely and quiet. Lodge was clean and comfortable. Sept 2012.
  3. Great cottage in a quiet location. Dogs can be taken and there is plenty of room for them to run around. Owner is very helpful. Look out for Red deer. They come close to the property sometimes. Sept 2012.
  4. This is truly a cottage to go to if you want to "get away from it all", A fabulous location in Tarbet, on the shores of Loch Lomond, you can get to places by car, ferry (or walk if you are able!). The cottage itself has good facilities. There is plenty to see and do in the area. If you are after a holiday where you can enjoy the countryside this is an ideal base. Mr Roberts the owner makes you very welcome but is always on hand if you have any queries. I would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone and will no doubt be returning next year. Sept 2012.
  5. Very much off the beaten track but easy to find - if that makes sense! Beautiful location, very very quiet apart from bird song and the owner is very helpful, there on hand if you need it, but keeps a low profile otherwise which suited us. May 2012.
  6. We loved the property, and the area around it. The owner was a lovely guy, very friendly. Aug 2011.
  7. Lovely cottage, quiet location, owner very nice, great views. July 2011.
  8. Ben Lomond is in a wonderful setting but the approach road is a rough track ~ fine for us, but you need a sturdy car, We anticipated a bit of ’weather’ but it was exceptional ~ gales, trees down on the main road approach and, on our first night, a tree down, blocking the drive. Helping Robert clear the drive with his chainsaw was just one of the events of the holiday. He helped out when there was a power cut while we were cooking and he couldn’t have been more helpful overall. Inverary town, castle, and surrounding area were all without electricity all of the following day, but everyone did the best they could to help us tourists. Our Hungarian friends were impressed with the whole area and with the welcome we received. May 2011.
  9. Cottage has been restored to a high standard. Owner is very welcoming. Feb 2011.
  10. Secluded, clean, well supplied with linen, utensils and crockery. Oct 2010.
  11. This was excellent accommodation, accurately represented and in a good location for exploring the surrounding area. July 2010.
  12. The setting is beautiful as it looks straight over to Ben Lomond. The owner is very nice and helpful and you are welcome to roam around his land as much as you like. Very peaceful. July 2010.
  13. A very nice cottage in a most excellent location. One we will definitely visit again, as Robert (owner) is such a lovely guy & very helpful. Rife in wildlife (deer, eagles you name it its there.) Easy access to west coast and highlands to boot. Infact if I could I would buy the place. July 2010.
  14. Lovely property with excellent views and in an ideal location for walking and touring. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. Feb 2010.
  15. This was the second time we have stayed at this property so we were aware of the features. Obviously by going back again we were very happy with the cottage and the owners assistance. Feb 2010.
  16. Fabulous peaceful location, fantastic views, beautiful secluded cottage. We were made very welcome and were sad to leave. Highly recommended and definitely top of the list for the future. Oct 2009.
  17. Very quite and secluded spot. Relaxing. Helpful and friendly property owner. Great way to access the hills and have a comfortable base camp. Oct 2009.
  18. It was a beautiful location and the accommodation was in pristine condition. It was very central yet very quiet. April 2009.
