Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. A pretty cottage with wonderful views and down a very quiet country lane. The log burner was attractive but the main warmth was provided by the storage heaters. The kitchen is new and attractive with every appliance you could want. Sept 2012.
  2. We had a wonderful stay with our family at Beech Lodge. The area was peaceful and secluded, the views beautiful. The cottage was clean, cosy and comfortable. The kitchen had been recently updated and was well equipped. The owners were very helpful and had provided useful information about the surrounding area. We would definately choose to stay here again. July 2012.
  3. Cosy cottage in superb rural location. Stunning views over sheep pastures, woodland and the Black Mountains. Ideal location for exploring border towns of Abergavenny, Hereford, Monmouth, Hay-on Wye but also for hillwalking. Brilliant dark skies for star gazing. Very clean, well equipped cottage and friendly welcome. April 2012.
  4. We enjoyed a lovely short break at Beech Lodge, where the property’s location and warmth of our hosts welcome made it a memorable stay. Our family of five fitted snugly into the Lodge which is ideally located to explore both on foot and in the car the surrounding Welsh/English borders. Both mornings we awoke to beautiful blue skies above us and rolling mist in the valley below, away from it all, peaceful and stunning. March 2012.
  5. Beech Lodge is in a lovely spot for walking and being away from the crowds, whilst still having easy access to the local towns. We had a lovely quiet long weekend, with the beautiful view and lovely walks locally in a warm October - the local pub in Garway is a real gem. We have stayed in many holiday cottages around the UK and we rate this cottage very highly because it was very welcoming, comfortable, and in a great location - plus when we arrived late on the Friday night, the owner had left apple cake to revive us - I don’t think you can beat that. Oct 2011.
  6. Superb view, very quiet, friendly natives. Would fully recommend this cottage and it is on our "revisit if we get the chance" list. June 2011.
  7. The setting is beautiful, and being so far away from any where else meant that the star gazing was amazing. Oct 2010.
  8. Outstanding location. Friendly owner. The visitors book bears witness. Sept 2010.
  9. The cottage was cosy and comfortable with all the necessary equipment. The setting was beautiful and peaceful. July 2010.

  11. Excellent rural location with easy access to places which were of interest to us. Nov 2009.
  12. We’ve stayed in quite a few English Country Cottages and Scottish Country Cottages properties, but we thought Beech Lodge had the best view of all of them! A stunning panorama looking towards the mysterious Black Mountains in the distance. Oct 2009.
  13. It was a real holiday to be away from traffic and from other people. The view from the cottage is stunning. May 2009.

  18. A lovely tranquil location with a great view, well placed between main Wye Valley sites and the Brecons. Our hosts could not have been more willing to help with several queries we had (especially about eateries)and we found the property was very well equipped. Aug 2008.
  19. Beech Lodge is our favourite place in the world after home. Thew owners are kindness itself and the setting is fantastic, the views are just fantastic. We have visited 4 times in 5 years and hope to return soon. Oct 2007.
