Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Just lovely. Very peaceful and ideal base for exploring the area. Everything you need in the cottage. Farmer and his wife and children were charming. Will definitely stay at Beckside Cottage again. August 2012.
  2. Lovely location on a working farm. Very quiet get away from it all property. Country side stunning. Beach not too far. May 2012.
  3. A great cottage and location with owners who are helpful but keep a distance. The area is excellent with walks everywhere and lots of places to visit. I would recommend Beckside Cottage. April 2012.
  4. We felt right at home the moment we arrived, it was very clean and comfortable. The welcome gifts of wine, milk, bread and a cake were a really nice touch from the owners. The cottage is in a remote location and no mobile signal so you could get away from "normal life". We enjoyed visting the whole area and the locals are very friendly. We enjoyed Whitby, must vist the Humble Pie and Mash shop, the market town of Pickering and of course all the lovely walks on the moors or along the coast, 1st class! Oct 2011.
  5. An excellent cottage which had nothing lacking. Ideal if you want a quiet retreat, or a base for walking and sightseeing. Sept 2011.
  6. A beautiful location. Helpful owners. July 2011.
  7. A gorgeous cottage in a gorgeous location! Oct 2010.
  8. Very private and quiet, even though the owners lived next door. They were always there if we needed anything and nothing was too much trouble. They left us to our own devices though. It was a real home from home and was lacking in nothing - everything had been thought of. Aug 2010.
  9. A lovely building off the beaten track - a spectacular location. The cottage was spotless, attractively decorated and uncluttered. We felt at home immediately. Kathryn and Ian were very friendly and helpful. April 2010.
  10. The cottage is in a perfect loacation to unwind. No mobile signal helped. Just the perfect location to chill. March 2010.
  11. Fantastic property - we had huge help from the owners with snow issues! A beautifully located cottage with wonderful hosts. Dec 2009.
  12. This is a super cottage for anyone wanting a relaxing break in beautiful surroundings. The accommodation was truly wonderful, clean, warm, comfortable and well equipped. The owners were very welcoming and helpful, yet unobtrusive. Heaven on Earth! Oct 2009.
  13. This was a warm and friendly cottage you can call home from home. Aug 2009.
  14. Absolutely delightful! This property was absolutely wonderful. We have used English Country Cottages several times in the past, but this has been by far the best place we have been to. The cottage is in what we called a ’hidden valley’ where it is almost like time has stood still for 50 years. There is no traffic noise, and the only sound to be heard is the trickling of the beck outside. The owners of the cottage were really friendly, but without being intrusive in any way at all. On arrival the owners had kindly left a fresh loaf, cake and a bottle of wine, a really nice touch. July 2009.
  15. The location of the cottage was excellent, ideal for moors, beaches and walking. Hosts were very helpful and available if needed. Welcome pack was very welcome especially the wine! I would certainly recommend this accommodation to those seeking a beautiful secluded location where you can enjoy the peace and quiet. July 2009.
  16. Owners were very welcoming and helpful but not at all intrusive. April 2009.
  17. We went in January and arrived in thick fog and snow on the ground. The cottage was just right; warm, cosy and inviting with a real fire to welcome us. Jan 2009.
  18. This cottage is perfectly located for getting away from it all yet near enough (in a car) to nip out and get a few provisions. We felt that the family who owned the cottage were helpful and friendly but never intrusive. The whole experience was perfectly balanced and it was hard to tear ourselves away! Nov 2008.
  19. A quiet, secluded and charming situation. Our hosts were most approachable, friendly and amenable without being intrusive. The property is well situated for access to many parts of the National Park and the superb coastal scenery and amenities. Nov 2008.
  20. Perfect cottage in a perfect setting. March 2008.
