Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. A part of the lake district without any lakes in view, but still absolutely idylic. This was a lovely place to spend an anniversary break in and meant that we saw an area of Cumbria that we were not familiar with as it is away from the usual tourist haunts. Peace and quiet. Just what we wanted. May 2012.
  2. Beautiful views very tranquil and relaxing. A very cosy cottage with all the mod cons. The local pub The New Inn the food was excellent and the prices are good too. A very enjoyable and relaxing holiday. Sept 2011.
  3. Fantastic views, interesting gothic-related decor and excellent all-round break! We recommend a trip to Coniston; climb The Old Man Coniston and retreat post-ramble to a village pub for a pint of Blue Bird Bitter. Sept 2011.
  4. Beautiful and peaceful location, great to walk from if you are able, and a good base for exploring the western valleys of the Lake District. Perfect for couples for a get away break, and all you need in the cottage for comfort (unless you want a bath!).. but an excellent shower. May 2011.
  5. A fantastic ’get away’. Owners around if needed but totally left us to it. Private parking space and garden area. Amazing views. Lovely little cottage with everything you could need. Brilliant reclining sofa after a long walk! Real retreat as quite a way off the beaten track but close enough to both Southern and Western lakes to make it an ideal location for exploring. Highly recommended. March 2011.
  6. Stunning location if you want to get away & forget reality! Perfect place for a relaxing break, will be back. March 2011.
  7. A lovely location with excellent views, property had plenty of crockery and utensils more than enough for 2 people. Aug 2010.
  8. Perfect for a couple who want to get away from it all. Sept 2010.
  9. It was part of the main farmhouse, but separate door, small garden and place to park. It felt like a cottage on it’s own, without being abandoned in the hills. The cottage itself was clean, nicely presented and had all the bits and pieces you might need. July 2010.
  10. The property was furnished in a modern style which appealed immediately as so many properties can be old fashioned or chintzy! It was cosy, warm and had amazing views and was just perfect for a couple who want a romantic, left alone, break! April 2010.
  11. A cosy cottage with fantastic views and good walks from the cottage. March 2010.
  12. Cosy, comfortable and very well equipped. Sept 2009.
  13. Due to the cottage’s unique location and the visibility afforded by the superb weather, the panoramic views of the mountains from the garden were truly incredible. June 2009.
  14. Fab cottage, owners lovely, beautiful surroundings. Would stay there again and recommended it to friends and family. March 2009.
  15. Location was superb, stunning views, beautiful walks and was perfect if, like us, you wanted peace & quiet away from it all and didn’t mind having to travel several miles to the nearest pub in the evenings! July 2009.
  16. Location is perfect for a get away from it all holiday, wonderful scenery and excellent walking country from the door. Oct 2008.
  17. The perfect place to stay for a get away from it all holiday. It is a paradise for walkers and hill climbers. July 2006.
