Boasting walking direct from the door and Gait Barrows nature reserve close by, Bankwell Cottage is tucked away in a quiet setting overlooking Silverdale’s golf course. Thoughtfully furnished throughout, it features a marble fireplace and a Victorian brass bed, and enjoys its own large garden, a perfect holiday retreat. Lancaster, 8 miles, the seaside attractions of Morecambe, or travel deeper into the dramatic scenery of the Lake District. Shops, pubs and restaurants 1 mile.

Ground floor: Living/dining room. Second living room. Kitchen. Bathroom with shower attachment and toilet. Narrow tread stairs to first floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double with beams, 1 single.

NSH, electric heaters, convector heaters, electricity and bed linen included. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Large garden and furniture. Barbecue. Parking (1 car). No smoking.

  1. A wonderfully cosy, old-fashioned cottage. What it lacked in mod cons it more than made up for in homely atmosphere. The night storage heaters kept it cmfortably warm, the immersion provided piping hot water & the tv was modern & worked fine. Parking could be a bit problematical, but the cottage itself was one of the nicest we’ve stayed in. Sept 2012.
  2. Lovely character property, nicely tucked away and ideally situated for exploring Silverdale, Arnside and beyond. All amenities you could want and some excellent recommendations for shopping, eating out and places to visit from owners - very helpful from the start. Friendly and welcoming neighbours, beautiful countryside, woodland walks, coastal paths. Lovely people to meet and all very dog-friendly - everything we could wish for. Aug 2011.
  3. The cottage was surprisingly big and the back garden was beautifully kept. There was everything you needed in the cottage and we managed not having a shower fitted over the bath but because the weather was mixed we appreciated the baths on an evening. Silverdale is a beautiful village and we were amazed how close we were to the beach. A lovely and relaxing holiday which the dog enjoyed as much as we did! Aug 2011.
  4. This cottage is perfect - so cosy and quaint but with a fantastic huge private garden. Its location is ideal; just a short stroll to the RSPB centre at Leighton Moss and only 1 mile from the village of Silverdale. It suited my family and I perfectly. We hope to return soon. May 2011.

  6. The photos didn’t do it justice, it was lovelier in the flesh than it looked! And was larger too, there was plenty of heating for if it got cold and a smashing setting too. Aug 2010.
  7. Bankwell cottage is a fabulous property with a sense of history too. Situated in the midst of stunning countryside where there are fabulous leisurely walks straight from the door. The one week we stayed there was not long enough and we wished we could have stayed longer. I would recommend this to anyone. Sept 2008.
