These twelve charming holiday cottages (MQO, P, Q, R, S & T, MRJ, MRK, MTA, MVK, MVL and MVM) are set in a beautiful small development of traditional farmhouse and barn conversions close to the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near the Northumbrian Heritage Coastline. Set in some 35 acres of peaceful and tranquil surroundings, the grounds are a mix of woodland with wildlife in abundance, courtyards, lawns and a traditional theme of Northumbrian Heritage throughout.
Guyzance dates back to 1242 and is a small hamlet located south east of Alnwick on the River Coquet amidst picturesque open countryside, yet close to all the main visitor attractions in the county. Warkworth is only 3 miles away with its hillside castle, charming small shops, pubs and river walks, while Amble, 5 miles, is a very friendly fishing port with a bustling working harbour and a new marina. Boat trips can be taken to the nearby RSPB reserve at Coquet Island. Alnwick with its mighty medieval fortress of Alnwick Castle - one of the finest in Europe and stage set for Harry Potter and Braveheart - is set in stunning landscape. The cottages offer fittings of a very good standard and the décor is tasteful throughout each one. Each cottage is different yet each has its own sitting-out area with a barbecue to relax in after a day exploring the beautiful unspoilt coastline and areas surrounding this skilfully designed and tasteful setting. Newcastle city centre with its fine galleries, Centre of Life, Sage Centre, theatres and regenerated quayside area is only 30 miles away. The Metro Centre is only 30 miles distant. Shops and pubs 3 miles.

  1. Lovely property- exceeded expectations! Warm, comfortable and stylish. Lots to see and do both coastal and inland. Excellent road network making everywhere accessible - we made 80 mile round trips easily and tiresly .Superp reclamation place at Ford - with friendly owners and great tearoom. Horseriding at kimmerston- friendly and swimming at Alnwick good value. Oct 2012.
  2. The property was in a lovely location surrounded by countryside. Very peaceful. Warkworth nearest town had pubs and restaurant. Alnwick close by for supermarket. Tree House restaurant at Alnwick superb. Also, Coach Inn at Lesbury. May 2012.
  3. Cottage is set in a lovely rural location, very peaceful and quiet. Need a car as the nearest shop is at least 3 miles away so make sure if you arrive in the evening you bring supplies. Cottage is well stocked although did lack a potato masher, but we bought one and left it behind for next time, also no egg cups so make sure you bring some if you like a boiled egg for breakfast cottage is modern, clean and comfortable would stay there again without hesitation.   4. Ideally located in what appears to be a remote cosy setting, but is actually on 5 minutes from the A1. This is a great base to see Northumbria. We never tend to visit the same place/area twice but I’d happily recommend it to friends and family as they have properties to cater for all group sizes. They even cater for pets but the properties are well cleaned so no sign or smell of previous visitors. Sept 2011.

  6. The location was excellent if you like being away from it all. The nearest shops are about 4 miles away but historical sighs such as castles are all all in traveling distance. The cottage had everything that was needed away from home. Feb 2011.
  7. Sunny aspect, light and airy. Large open room with comfortable furniture. Warm and cosy especially being able to pop the little electric woodburner on if it was chilly. Great having the choice of a long lazy bath big enough for two or an efficient power shower. Oct 2010.

  16. The cottage was light, airy, beautifully fitted out with good quality kitchen equiptment, not damp and, unusually for a conversion style of property, was furnished in a modern style.     • 3. The Competition opens at 09.00 GMT on 25/03/2013 and closes on 31/07/2013 at 23.59 GMT. Entries received after this time and date will not be accepted. Proof of submission is not proof of receipt.
    • 4. Lucky Ted must be photographed enjoying any aspect of a UK holiday. Finders may keep Lucky Ted or leave him in the property for the next lucky finders.
    • 5. Only photos clearly depicting an original Lucky Ted wearing his cottages4you tee-shirt will be accepted. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of any subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws.
    • 6. Entrants must confirm their booking reference number and cottage reference or name when submitting entries and can enter as many different photos showing Lucky Ted as they wish.
    • 7. We reserve the right to provide alternative monthly prizes of similar value should they become unavailable for any reason.
    • 8. The Competition is open to residents of Great Britain aged 21 years or over. Employees of Wyndham Worldwide and its group of companies, including cottages4you, their agents, owners of cottages and families are not permitted to enter.
    • 9. Monthly Winners will be selected by public vote via Facebook. The public will be invited to choose their favourite photo by voting for it . They will be asked to base their choice on which photo they think best shows Lucky Ted enjoying a UK holiday moment. The photo with the most votes at the end of each month will win the Monthly Prize. The next four most popular photos will be the Runners Up and will each win an Amazon gift voucher as described.
    • 10. The 4 Monthly Winners will be entered into a final phase of voting in September of which there will be one Grand Winner who will be have received the most votes during this month for their photo. The Grand Winner will be notified on Facebook and by email on 27th September. The Grand Winner will receive the C4U holiday cottage voucher for £500 which can be used in part or full payment against a C4U holiday cottage booking before 31st Dec 2014.
    • 11. The monthly Winner and 4 Runners Up will be notified on 31st May, 28th June, 31st July and, 31st August dependent on when they entered the competition. Identical Photographs entered more than once throughout the competition will be counted as one entry. The photos when uploaded will be stored by facebook and uploaded on the 30th April 1st July, & 1st August to allow everyone at least 2 weeks voting by followers.
