This charming, terraced holiday cottage, circa 1826 with its rag slate roof, beams and stone fireplace with clome oven, has breathtaking sea and country views from the garden areas. Fitted to a good standard throughout, this cottage has many thoughtful touches. The sleepy hamlet of Treligga is tucked away at the end of a country lane, surrounded by open countryside and is close to many of the famous villages and sites on the North Cornwall coast, including Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur with its stunning castle, Boscastle, with its picturesque fishing harbour and Port Isaac, the charming and beautiful fishing village which features in the TV series ‘Doc Martin’. The coastal path is easily reached from the front door as is Tregardock beach. The glorious surfing beach of Trebarwith Strand, perfect for families and dog walkers alike, is only a short drive or an energetic walk away. Shops and facilities are available 2 miles away in the traditional slate mining village of Delabole. Local villages feature a wide variety of pubs and restaurants offering excellent food. The popular resorts of Rock and Padstow are easily accessible and offer top quality restaurants, watersports on the Camel Estuary and cycling on the spectacular Camel Trail. The busy little town of Wadebridge is a source of everything you might need on your holiday. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

The cleanliness is faultless thanks to the housekeeper. Lovely view of the sea. Very ideal for families with dogs - ours loved it! Access nearby to the coastal path if you brave the cow fields!! The owners really make you feel welcome with little extras that you dont expect! Thankfully we had gorgeous weather at the end of March which made it even better! The likes of Tintagel, Port Issac and Boscastle are all a short drive away and without a doubt worth a visit!! The beach not far away at Trebarwith Strand is also a must-see! Definitely hope to return one day as so enjoyable! Thoroughly recommend it and rate it good value for money! March 2012.
  3. The best way to sum up Backways is it had everything you could ever need on holiday plus more. Exceptional accommodation, outstanding views, and lovely rural location. A big bonus (for us at least) was there was very poor mobile phone coverage, so a relaxing break was what we had. My dogs had a wonderful time with all the local walks and coves to explore and they were also well catered for in the cottage. Would highly recommend and will no doubt be returning. My partner did find some of the ceilings low but he is 6’9’’ and it wasn’t really an issue. Feb 2012.

  5. Backways cottage is wonderful, very cosy and we wanted for nothing, as it was so well equipped. The location is great for visits to Padstow, Port Issac, Tintagel etc just a short drive away. We had a fabulous walking holiday in November!! The weather was great. Sharon the housekeeper was very welcoming and the lovely welcome pack of wine and biscuits etc was unexpected but went down well!! Nov 2011.

  7. A beautiful cottage hidden down a country lane although easy to find. Terrific views over the fields to the sea. Beutifully decorated and very comfortable. Ideal for our Alsation dog. She loved it! Good as a base to visit other places. The only reason we would not visit again is that we never return to a place we have been to before. Sept 2011.
