Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. A spacious, cosy, very well equipped cottage which exceeded our expectations. The owners have thought of everthing snd we really appreciated the welcome hamper of fresh flowers, home made bread, cheese, wine, chutney, crackers, water, eggs and milk! The cottage is situated in a lovely area, close to coast and countryside. As you drink your morning cup of tea you can watch birds, pheasants and squirrells visitig the bird feeder in the garden. We will defintely visit Ashpit cottage again. Nov 2012.
  2. Superb accommodation, excellent hosts. Oct 2012.
  3. The cottage had a rustic atmosphere but with some lovely elegant & artistic touches. The kitchen was very well equipped and the welcome pack was excellent. The owners gave us a warm welcome and provided a wealth of brochures and advice on where to go. Hope to visit again. Sept 2012.
  4. Excellent cottage. Dec 2011.
  5. Though the weather was doing its best to dampen our holiday, Ashpit Cottage was a little Haven. Dorothy and Paul have put such a lot of thought into providing truly first class holiday accommodation, and thoroughly deserve all of the wonderful comments in the visitor’s book! The cottage itself was stunning, comfortable and ideally situated. The welcome was warm, and the tea tray, cake, home-made bread and wine very much appreciated so we could find our feet in the area without rushing straight out to buy the essentials. All in all we had a very relaxing, enjoyable holiday and hope to be back in the years to come. Dec 2011.
  6. A truly beautiful cottage, very well equipped, it has everything you could possibly need for a wonderful break. We received a very warm welcome, freshly baked bread, wine, local cheeses. Exceeded all expectations! Oct 2011.
  7. An excellent cottage finished to the highest standard. It had a marvellous view, was spotlessly clean and had many added touches (like soap, bubble bath, home baked bread and eggs from own chicken). The hosts were friendly & approachable but not intrusive. Oct 2011.
  8. This property is outstanding in a rural setting with superb views across the garden to the hills. A very warm welcome including home made provisions. Every aspect of the cottage had been carefully planned and no detail overlooked including the two bathrooms. Sept 2011.
  9. We found the property to be of the highest quality, and the owners were very kind and very helpful. I described the cottage in the guest book,as ’Perfect’, which it was, and after 11 years of using Country Cottages, we know what we are talking about. One suggestion,- it would be helpful to have a simple guide as to the use of equipment. Aug 2011.
  10. Absolutely perfect, could not have asked for better accommodation or better hosts. I could not rate this cottage high enough, simply perfect. June 2011.
  11. The holiday was wonderful and the cottage marvellous - the owners extended a wonderfully warm welcome to us. The cottage was even more lovely than the photos on your website and the attention to detail was faultless - better than any 5 star hotel! The property was superbly placed for exploring the beautiful Nth Yorks moors and also getting to the many lovely places along the coast. We shall be booking for a return visit next year! March 2011.
  12. Excellent attention to detail. Home cooked bread and cheese, pickles and cake were provided on arrival, also wine and milk. Met all of our expectations and more. Nov 2010.
  13. The cottage was absolutely beautiful and we had a very warm and friendly welcome from the owner. It was equipped with everything you could ever need and was spotlessly clean. We had a wonderful holiday and really didn’t want to leave. We’ve recommended it to all our family and friends and we would definitely go back. A fantastic cottage in a lovely location. Nov 2010.
  14. Ashpit Cottage is a fantastic example of old-world farmhouse architecture with 21st-C 5 star delivery. It, and the owners’ welcome, is first class. Oct 2010.
  15. Every aspect of the cottage was perfect, it was a 5 star + cottage even down to the welcome pack. It was situated great for our requirements, the owners were very welcoming you would think we had known each other for years. Oct 2010.
  16. Very clean and modern and accessible to the North Yorkshire locality. Sept 2010.
  17. Superb accommodation, finished to the highest standard with many little touches that made all the difference. A wonderful welcome from our hosts who could not have been more helpful. I’m sure we’ll be back. June 2010.
