Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Ash Cottage was perfect. It was cosy and homely and provided all we could hope for. We really appreciated the cake, milk, tea and coffee left for us by the owners, after a long journey it made such a difference. The area surrounding Ash cottage is beautiful, even in December! Dec 2011.
  2. This is a delightful cottage, and very warm (and has about the first warm bathroom I’ve ever had on holiday), with a spacious feel because the owners have not ried to fit in a second bedroom. It had just about enough equipment but serious cooking would have been a bit difficult. The spacious bedroom overlooked a lovely hill. The road was busier than we expected around 8-9 and 4.30 - 6 but that was not a problem. We found the bed a bit lumpy but still slept, but the armchairs were far too deep unless you are under 40 and very flexible(!) but we made do with the dining chairs quite well. The area is fantastic with wild walks from about 3 miles away - or on the hill behind the cottage if you wish! We walked near a reservoir and explored the old mine area on the edge of Macclesfield Forest. We would definitely consider going to this cottage again, although a better bed and better chairs would be appreciated. Nov 2011.
  3. We had a lovely time. Cottage clean and tidy. Stairs a bit steep but apart from that it was excellent. The owners made us very welcome and resolved any problems quickly. Good for walking and relaxing. The dog enjoyed the treats so thank you! Oct 2011.
  4. The welcome cake and reception from the owners was fantastic. We’d like to thank the owners for providing a lovely property in an ideal location for going all over the place and see the sites. Sept 2011.
  5. Lovely cottage but very quiet location. Sept 2011.
  6. Good base for getting to many places within 25 miles in the Lake District and National Trust. June 2011.
  7. Lovely comfy, warm, and cosy cottage. Very clean with great facilities and a short walk to a very dog friendly pub with great food and atmosphere. Loved the enclosed yard which was great for the dog, and lots of great walks very close. Would have loved to have been able to stay longer. Feb 2011.
  8. Well maintained, instant heating system, comfortable, good location, friendly owners, welcome pack (tea, coffee, milk and homemade cake), modern bathroom and kitchen. Feb 2011.
  9. The high standards of the cottage. The welcome of the owners. Dec 2010.
  10. We really enjoyed our stay at Ash Cottage in Rainow. It was very cosy and had a welcoming feeling inside, with fantastic facilities. It was also very clean and tidy. Great view from window. The surroundings were really beautiful, and the locals very friendly. There are lots of fabulous walks to take such as ’white nancy’, and the Peak District. A must visit would also be ’The Robbin Hood Inn’ were you can enjoy a great spot of lunch or dinner. We will definitely be returning again to Ash Cottage. Dec 2010.
  11. Very well modernised with excellent facilities in a wonderful location. Sept 2010.
