Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. The overall size and layout of the cottage is ideal. The main bedroom is spacious and extremely comfortable. The kitchen area is more than adequate with a very good supply of utensils. The sitting area is spacious and very comfortable. The downstairs twin bedded room, which we didn’t use, appears to be very comfortable. The cottage was very well heated and welcoming. One thing which some people may not like is the steep drive up to the cottage, from the road. This is quite narrow but suitable for a family sized car since there is a necessity to turn around within the adequate yard area. Overall, we would have no problem in reccommending it to friends and relatives. Sept 2012.
  2. Quiet, clean, and warm and friendly owners. Beautiful location and main bedroom outstanding. Sept 2012.
  3. The owners were very friendly and gave us hints of places to visit. The cottage was very well appointed and we felt at home as soon as we arrived. Would love to return. The area was very unspoilt and quiet. May 2012.
  4. A lovely warm welcoming cottage, super to come back to. Master bedroom is georgeous. April 2012.
  5. Lovely cosy cottage in a pretty location. Very quiet and peaceful, but it was a perfect base for touring. We had a warm welcome from the owner which was very unexpected. We loved the main bedroom which was tastefully decorated and furnished, the property was very clean. Feb 2012.
  6. Perfectly placed far enough off the beaten track to be very peaceful, but close to Chepstow and Goucester, with all Forest of Dean attractions within easy reach. The cottage was comfortable, warm and well set up. Lots of family-friendly activities nearby. A lovely cottage in a lovely area. Feb 2012.
  7. Although cottage was a little way of the beaten track this is what made it an ideal location for us. The Cottage was extremely comfortable, well stocked with all the things one needs. Overall a great place to holiday and stay. Sept 2011.
  8. Great little cottage which is full of character. Great sitting out area and easy excess to the forest of Dean. July 2011.
  9. The cottage was well appointed with lots of brochures and maps for local places of interest and walks. The owner of the cottage was very helpful and pleasant. The weather was unfortunate, but we still enjoyed the holiday very much and expect to return at some time. June 2011.
  10. We had a wonderful relaxing time, it was nice to be somewhere so peaceful. The garden was safe and ideal for the dog, great that an enclosed garden actually was enclosed. Overall one of the best breaks we have had. Loved the cottage and garden and hope to go back at some point. May 2011.
  11. Peace and quiet was what we were looking for and we got it! It is an absolute ideal location. Beautiful walks, lovely scenery. Garden is wonderful and the dog loved it, although she was quite keen to watch the lambs in the field adjacent to the cottage! Drakes Cottage just down the lane. Cottage so comfortable. Everything you need. April 2011.
  12. Cottage was perfect for a relaxing break, and if you don’t mind being in the middle of nowhere. Very comfortable, clean, decorated to a very high standard, great space. Would have benefited from a slightly better stocked kitchen (wooden spoons etc). The family who own it and rent it out were very friendly and helpful. Feb 2011.

We were very grateful for the information about the area as we were first time visitors to the area.the information on the history of the cottage was very interesting as well. My wife, daughter, son & myself were all in no doubt that we would happily visit the cottage again without hesitation, so you can see that we were overall very impressed. Aug 2010.
