Property Description

Alta Lyn Barns are set in a glorious position with far reaching views out to the Bristol Channel, set high above the towns of Lynton and Lynmouth. These three properties (HKKP, HKKW & HMMH) are part of a barn conversion set within the Exmoor National Park. The holiday apartments have been fully restored with exposed beams and rafters. Set amongst some of the most glorious scenery to be found in Devon, plenty of footpaths and coastal walks can be taken from the apartments, which are on Exmoor National Park. Walk through the heather; look out for red deer, ponies and buzzards. The properties are ideally situated for exploring the area. To the west are some of the country’s finest beaches at Woolacombe and Putsbourgh. At Ilfracombe there is the harbour area, Landmark Theatre and an good range of shops and amenities. Visit the Combe Martin Wildlife Park and Watermouth Castle. Travelling east, take a trip into Dunster, 10 miles, and visit the historic yarn market and castle. Minehead, with its sandy beach, is 18 miles. Take in all the small villages close by, such as Blue Anchor, Watchet and Old Cleave and the many NT properties waiting to be explored. Shops 1 mile, pub 3 miles (1 mile if walking).

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Excellent position for walks and visiting area beautiful scenery good views from Granary. There could have been more cleaning equiptment ie broom hoover and more china glasses etc. Very peaceful and quiet. Sept 2012.
  2. Owner very welcoming without being intrusive. Well worth spending time with the Alpacas - wonderful creatures. Great views from a lovely cosy accommodation. Aug 2011.
  3. Under floor heating view cleaniness alpacas. Feb 2011.
  4. Next to a working farm but access and parking area was safe and secure, with splendid walks on your doorstep. Accommodation was as promised; but also with stunning views over the Bristol Channel to Wales (on clear days). Well equipped with beautiful wooden floors, and the underfloor heating with controls for each individual room was excellent. The Beggar’s Roost Pub only 300 yards away, saw that we really didn’t need to cook, and the owners proved to be very friendly and helpful. Nov 2010.
  5. Cleanliness, availability for pets without being over fussy (i.e.we didnt have to worry about our dogs causing damage to the property or disturbing guests in the down stairs property), also the property was comfortable. Oct 2010.
  6. Clean, private and convenient. Aug 2010.
  7. Had a lovely time staying at the Granary, a real home from home. Excellent for small children due to the good size lounge & bathroom, stair gate & high chair were up & running, enclosed front courtyard and well stocked kitchen. Shop, cafe & pub a stones throw away. Really lovely owners, full of info but not in your face or pushing a hard sell. Nice view of the village & sea. Aug 2010.
  8. We liked the location & space. June 2010.
  9. The location was excellent, lovely views from some windows. Oct 2009.
  10. The accommodation was excellent. Very comfortable with superb views. Sept 2009.
  11. Very friendly and homely feel to the Barn. It was also very clean and in an excellent location. Sept 2009.
