Property Description

Panoramic views
Ideal base for touring

The views from these cottages have to be seen to be believed. Set in the Lake District National Park in an elevated position with stunning views over the Lyth Valley and open countryside to the hills beyond. Addyfield Properties make comfortable holiday home from which to walk direct from the door or for touring in the Lakes.
Just two miles from Lake Windermere at Fell Foot and only 5 miles from Bowness-on-Windermere with its wealth of shops, pubs and restaurants. Grange-over-Sands 7 miles. The location is perfect for making the most of one of England’s most beautiful National Parks. Excellent walking, climbing and a wide variety of watersports can all be enjoyed nearby.
Don’t miss Lake Windermere, perhaps one of the most evocative of the Lakeland waters - craggy fells and mountains of matchless beauty are carved by becks tumbling down to the lake below. Take a trip to the house of Beatrix Potter, where her imagination was stirred to create Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddleduck, or many of Wordworth’s inspirational locations. Village shop 1 mile, pub with real ale ½ mile.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Don’t rely on your satnav as it will leave you in the middle of nowhere instead of taking you to the door. Rely on the directions given, it’s much easier that way! Excellent accommodation and lovely people, nice friendly pets too that the kids will love. The view is to die for! Rooms are comfy and the house is just gorgeous. I would have loved to stay for longer. June 2012.
  2. Fantastic cottage, the view from the patio was on a par with anything in the lake district. The owners were very helpful but not intrusive. Lake Windermere a short drive and a pub serving great food and six different beers a short walk away. It was the best cottage we have ever stayed in. March 2012.
  3. A very comfy well proportioned farm house. Lovely outlook. The owners were very helpful and welcoming. Although weather was a little rough the accomodation is so large you can loose yourself in it. Excellent. Sept 2011.
  4. Good all round cottage and very helpful owner when we had a hour power cut! Although accommodation is for 8 it could do with perhaps smaller kitchen pans along with the larger ones eg smaller fry pans for individual omelettes etc. Also a colander. But these comments are not a complaint more an observation. Great views, quiet location. Sept 2011.
  5. Brilliant, awesome views, only 5 miles from Windermere, perfect place to go any where in the lakes, Lakeland Motor Museum well worth a visit, if you have a 4 x 4 drive the old coach road it’s mega. April 2011.
  6. The farmhouse had plenty of space. The scenery around the property was beautiful; the view from every bedroom was fantastic. It was a very peacefull place and yet it was not far from the nearest town.Could of stayed longer, an ideal place to chill out. Sep 2010.
  7. Liked, the location - amazing views across the valley and the peace and quiet. Aug 2010.
  8. It was a beautiful house with all the necessary bedding, cutlery, saucepans etc. It is a very spacious house with a patio. There was a washing machine which was very useful as we stayed 2 weeks. The house was spotlessly clean, the owners very friendly and on hand if there was a problem which there wasn’t. The only thing we missed was a chair in the bedroom on which we could put our clothing at night. July 2010.
  9. Quiet, excellent views. June 2010.
  10. Great location for those seeking complete peace and relaxation. Clean, good condition but quite dated. However, this reflected fairly in the price. Oct 2009.
  11. Beautiful view, comfortable farmhouse. Sept 2009.
  12. The view was magnificent. All you could hear were the animals in the fields and birds singing. July 2009.
  13. The owner, the owner couldn’t have been kinder or more helpful and made sure that we had everything we needed. The property was in very good condition and very clean. We shall certainly recommend it to our friends. All in all we had a wonderful family holiday. May 2008.
  14. Excellent location for an exciting holiday. July 2007.
  15. A fantastic base for touring the Lake District. It was a pleasure to return at the end of the day, it felt like home. April 2006.
